Springville GI Sports Alumni Association
Established April 27th, 2023
On April 27th , 2023, Jim Prawel (SGI Class 1985) made a generous donation to start the not-for-profit corporation, Springville GI Sports Alumni Association, Inc (SGISAA). SGISAA is a tax-exempt organization filed under 501(c)(3), and was established solely to receive and administer funds for charitable purposes. Scholarships and donations will provide resources to support the development of the student-athletes, athletics department, and the academic community of SGI Central School District.
SGI Sports Alumni Association will fund two $1000 scholarships annually as follows:
- Mick Nugent Leadership Award: Will be awarded for Outstanding Leadership to a Male Student-Athlete
- Sharon Barley Leadership Award: Will be awarded for Outstanding Leadership to a Female Student-Athlete
The recipients chosen will embody the following in the classroom, the community and SGI athletics:
